Complex Crossroads: Serving Trans Youth as a Psychiatrist in Today’s Polarized Era
The Trans Center, in collaboration with Gila Project for Transgender Empowerment, are proud and excited to host Dr. Scott Leibowitz in a one-time lecture
Complex Crossroads: Serving Trans Youth as a Psychiatrist in Today’s Polarized Era
What happens with clinical compassion encounters walls of anti-trans ideology? How can you listen to a trans child or adolescent, when in the background, their very existence becomes public debate?
Dr. Scott Leibowitz, a US child and adolescent psychiatrist, invites us to a deep and personal conversation about the intersections where body, identity, ethics, and politics meet. Through his personal story, and as a person working at the heart of the public controversy in the US, he will share the complex ethical dilemmas involved with this area, the clinical principles he developed over the yeas, and the prices – and hopes – of working with trans and gender-diverse youth.
The lecture is open to the community, families, and professionals.
*Please note! The lecture will be conducted in English
*Wednesday, June 11th | 19:30 | The Trans Center (62 Mordekhai Anielewicz, Tel Aviv)
