In other countries around the world, the protocols vary.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In this article, we will discuss recommendations regarding conduct with aviation authorities and border crossings.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Note that before flying to any destination, it is recommended to check if there is a protocol regarding people on the trans spectrum and what it includes, and to make sure that the country is trans-friendly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Additionally, insurance companies do not insure travel for medical procedures or operations (not only gender transition procedures).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Tips for Flights<\/span><\/h1>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: square;\">\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Name and gender on passports \u2013 the name and gender on your passport must align with the name and gender on your plane ticket.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The title (such as Ms. and Mr.) that you are sometimes asked to add, doesn\u2019t necessarily need to match the gender on the passport, and airports generally disregard it. <\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">It is illegal to erase the sex clause on your passport or to damage it in any way.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Medications \u2013 solid medications can be brought on the plane in carry-on luggage. Liquid medications can be brought in your carry-on luggage when less than 100ml. You can take inhalers in carry-on luggage, but lubricating liquids must be taken in checked baggage (as their volume exceeds 100 ml). It is recommended to bring a doctor\u2019s note that these are prescription medications that you need to bring with you. <\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Screening and security machines \u2013 in some countries (mostly the USA) there are screening machines that create a 3D model of the body of the screened person (these are not the regular metal detectors). In these machines, the staff screens according to \u201cfemale\u201d or \u201cmale\u201d, according to their decision. These machines may cause delays or additional screening for people on the trans spectrum. It is recommended to avoid these machines if possible. It is also recommended not to use packers or prosthetic breasts when going through these machines, as they may be flagged as suspicious objects and lead to further security screening.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">It is recommended to bring a letter from an endocrinologist, a therapist, or other professional that states that you are a transgender person.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">If your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transwiki.co.il\/?post_type=articles&amp;p=5222&amp;preview=true\">appearance does not match your passport photo or the details on your passport<\/a>, it is recommended to bring an additional identification document besides your passport.
